The Vast Beauty of Southwest Colorado
For four years, my husband and I inhabited the southwestern parts of Colorado. I would say lived, but sometimes we just existed there. I’m actually kicking myself because although we did explore the rugged wilderness, breathed in it’s fresh air, and took refuge in it’s vastness, we most definitely didn’t do this enough.
I’m still so awe-struck by the raw freedom that occupies this world. We went back there this weekend and I desperately convinced my friend to watch the sunrise with me. Luckily, this took very little convincing because we missed each other and rarely spend anytime together. It was a time I'll treasure forever.
Anyway, that early morning we spent time catching up & laughing, and I spent the [almost non existent] silence trying to unearth the simplicity of the wilderness. I miss the road less traveled, the adventure of life, and the freedom to be. It's amazing how much I took for granted while I lived there. Nature has all the answers, and that’s where I’ll remember to look if I have any questions. Thanks Mother Nature-- you deserve an award.
Below are some of the pictures I took with my camera throughout the trip, not just that morning.
